Here’s How To X-Choke From The Knee Cut Pass

The Cross Choke is a submission that can be set up from all sorts of positions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including the Knee Cut Pass. And it’s actually really simple to do; so, if you don’t know how to set it up, it’s about time you learn.

This is a very simple and effective choke using the collar with the grip thumb out just behind the neck and the same leg as the arm. Make sure to have your opponent sideways for maximum efficiency.

If you’re in the gi and you went for a Knee Cut Pass… There’s a good chance that you can set up an X-Choke.

Here’s how to do it. Magid Hage demonstrates:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Magid Hage compiles his years of experience with trial and error to bring you the technique for a perfect baseball choke.

  • Learn all the angles and grips necessary to make this unorthodox choke successful.
  • Focus deeply on setups from the bottom and stop yourself from getting smashed by your opponent.
