Security Guard – Former Professional Wrestler – Stops Potential Mass Shooting In Florida

Last week, on early Sunday morning (March 19), a man wearing a devil mask went to enter into Tampa’s (Florida) “Mons Venus” strip club.
He was armed – and it seems that the security guards, one of which used to be a professional wrestler, have stopped a potential mass shooting.

Michael Rudman (44) was recorded on security camera, as he’s walking towards the door of the club.
As he was wearing a mask, one of the security guards – Manuel Anthony Resto (55) – thought it was a prank.

However, he quickly found out that this wasn’t the case:

I was like: “Okay, it’s not Halloween. Maybe it’s some type of trick or gag”, you know?

Because I used to, I was a professional wrestler. I mean, I know a lot of big guys. I’ve worked security for 30 years. I know a lot of bouncers.
I thought it was one of my friends playing a trick on me and he didn’t say a word.

And I was waiting for the punch line. Then all of a sudden he came right up to me and he was a very big man. Very big.
I saw him raise his hand and he had a gun.

Resto went for the gun, knocking it out of the assailant’s hands. A scuffle ensued:

I concentrated on the gun and I grabbed the his gun hand and his wrists with both hands, and I turned it towards him.
And then we started, you know, banging.

What I wanted to do was get him on the ground and get the gun away from him.
That was what I was trying to do when it happened.

Soon after, Resto and another security guard subdued Rudman and kept him pinned until police officers arrived.
