[GRAPHIC] Soldier Breaks Own Leg While Attempting A Buggy Choke Submission

It’s not every day that you see soldiers doing Jiu-Jitsu… Much less a soldier giving a shot to a Buggy Choke submission.
And, well, even less so a soldier breaking his own leg while trying to secure the tap.

Which is exactly what happened to an unfortunate soldier during a recent MARNE Week Jiu-Jitsu competition.
While trying to apply the Buggy Choke, he breaks his knee – check it out on the following link (be advised: graphic content, especially with sound on).

Many were horrified by the incident that took place, with some of the practitioners criticizing the young soldier for what he’d done:

I was in the Army, spent some time around 3ID, and I can confidently say that a soldier trying a buggy choke is the f*cking stupidest sh*t I have ever seen.

Trying to think of another offensive technique thats maims you worse than your oppenent if you squeeze too hard.

I broke my femur 14 years ago..this video made me viscerally ill.
Anyways, I will not be attempting this move ever, thank you very much.

Knee locked behind back of opponents head creating a fulcrum. Grabs foot like it’s a f*cking lever and pulls it. Makes no attempt to execute the actual function of the buggy choke.
Now THIS is some jiu jitsu.

Needless to say, if you’re going to try a Buggy Choke, make sure you’ve got your mechanics right…
And do NOT pull your foot towards you too much. Please.
