Craig Jones recently faced UFC welterweight contender Rinat Fakhretdinov, at Karate Combat’s Pit Submission Series 4 grappling event.
And, well, the match that took place on April 20 in Dubai had an unusual ending to it – as Jones appeared to have put Fakhretdinov to sleep with a Triangle Choke…
Not once, but two times in a row.
Jones set up a phenomenal and tight Triangle, before signalling to the referee that he thinks Fakhretdinov is “out”.
The referee approached to check, but it then appeared that Fakhretdinov regained consciousness at that very moment (possibly due to Jones loosening up the choke on purpose).
So, the referee let the match continue.
Jones squeezed on the Triangle Choke yet again, transitioned into the Mount variation…
And then put Fakhretdinov to sleep – for sure.
Check out the video below – what do you think happened?
Was Fakhretdinov out the first time or not?
