Reinier de Ridder Trained With John Danaher & Gordon Ryan: “I Basically Trained, Ate & Slept”

Reinier de Ridder has been investing tremendous amounts of effort into further developing himself as a fighter – in all areas, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

And, even though he is an exceptional black belt himself, de Ridder has already managed to learn a whole lot from John Danaher and Gordon Ryan.
He spent a lot of time training with them in the previous period and credits them for big leaps in his grappling skillset:

Huge thanks to these two guys and everyone at New Wave. It is still unreal to be able to learn from them.

I will be implementing everything I learned in the coming months and I have retribution on my mind so get ready for RdR 2.0.
I basically trained, ate and slept but if you have time here are some pictures and video’s of my experience.

Nevertheless, de Ridder is also happy that he is going home, as he’ll have an opportunity to hang out with his kids:

I am at the airport right now and it is so good to be heading home. I will not let go of my kids for 2 days.

With that said, it’s also quite possible that de Ridder will focus on his BJJ career after being done with MMA:

In the beginning of my career I got silver at the Europeans 3 years in a row which sparked my full time move to MMA because I was frustrated with the rules in BJJ.

But one day I need a pair of these so when MMA is done and I can focus on BJJ I will see if I can also achieve this amazing result.
