Lachlan Giles (Absolute MMA) is a first degree BJJ black belt under John Simon. He is the 2019 ADCC Absolute Bronze Medallist, 2017 NoGi Worlds Bronze Medallist, and multiple time Pan Pacifica and Victorian Jiu Jitsu Champion.
Most recently at ADCC 2019 Absolute division, Lachlan as one of the lightest competitors (under 77kg) shocked the world by submitting 3 world class heavyweights (Kaynan Duarte, Patrick Gaudio and Mahamed Aly) all by heel hook.
Lachlan also recently competed at Kinektic Invitational 1 2019, a five vs five grappling event similar to Quintet. In the first round, Lachlan single handedly swept the entire team, submitting them all, 4 by heel hook and 1 armbar.
Outside of his athletic accomplishments, Lachlan is an academic having completed his PhD in 2016. He also works as a physiotherapist.
