Take Mount Like Khabib Nurmagomedov – Here’s How

Rolling against Khabib Nurmagomedov would be terrifying for oh-so-many reasons… But perhaps the most terrifying of them all is Khabib’s Mount.
The way he takes Mount is as close to perfection as one could currently get in mixed martial arts. And yeah, you don’t have to tell us – we already know that you’d like to learn how to mount people like Khabib does.

Luckily for you, Lachlan Giles has decided to demonstrate how to do just that!

TAKE MOUNT LIKE KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV

Ever been in a situation where you’ve almost passed to Side Control, but your training partner is keeping you at a distance with their hands? Well, as long as you’re controlling their hips, you’ll love how Khabib takes Mount even more.

Lachlan explains that you need to make sure that you’re not just controlling the training partner’s far hip, but that you’re also pinching on it with your elbow. And that your far knee is underneath their legs.
The goal behind this is to actually pinch the other person’s knees together. To make it extremely difficult for them to spread them out. This will make the mounting process a whole lot easier.

From here, you’ll switch your legs – get your other leg’s knee underneath the training partner’s knees. And make sure that it’s in there deep. Then, cross with your other leg over their knee line (this is extremely important) and establish the figure-four control.
Lock and extend your legs, to make all of your training partner’s escape efforts futile. Drive into them with your hips, too.

Once you’ve done all of this, all that’s left is to establish underhooks. Lachlan Giles explains how on the video below:
