If you take into account the sheer amount of techniques in Jiu-Jitsu, as well as the details to every technique – and their variations in regards to the situations you find yourself in… Yeah, BJJ can seem quite complicated.
But there is a way to simple it down. And that’s with concepts. Because the number of concepts is so much lower than the number of techniques – and once you understand them, you’ll notice and use them across the Jiu-Jitsu checkboard.
For example, hip height and staying square are two concepts that will turn you into a much tougher opponent, almost instantly.
