#1 Advice To Start Using Your Legs The PROPER Way In Jiu-Jitsu

What do you use your legs for, when it comes to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and competition?
Yeah, for guard retention and guard passing, as well as for setting up submissions such as the various Leg Locks out there…

But what if we were to tell you that you’re probably not using your legs properly?
What if we were to tell you that you’re missing out on a BIG piece of the puzzle when it comes to how you’re supposed to use your limbs?

Here’s the missing piece: you need to start using your legs to pin and trap the opponent’s arms more often.
And no, that’s not just coming from us. It’s John Danaher who has a lot to say about the topic:

The more you can use your legs to pin and trap an opponents arms in dominant positions, the more successful you’ll be entering into submissions.

Pins are great for controlling opponents, but remember that most of his defense when pins begins with his arms.
If you can take one of his arms out of action by pinning it or trapping it, you will add greatly to the danger your pin presents to the opponent.

Therefore, the objective should be clear…

When you pin whether chest to chest or chest to back, look to go the extra distance and pin/trap an arm as well and you’ll be be able to do more than immobilize an opponent – you’ll finish him!
