Buchecha: ‘Metamoris Is Mostly No Gi Now & I’m Focusing on Gi’

Metamoris will not be able to book Jiu-Jitsu’s biggest name – at least not for a while.

After Metamoris 4, Ralek had said that he wanted Marcus Buchecha as a challenger to the winner of the fight between Josh Barnett and Dean Lister. Barnett ended up submitting Lister.

In an interview with Tatame, the 3x world champion Marcus Buchecha said that he did not think about competing in Ralek Gracie’s event at this time.

Buchecha is focused on the World Pro, World and ADCC in the next year:

“Actually, I have not received any concrete proposal. But it is not in my plans. Right now, they are only doing mostly no gi fights, and my focus is on Gi competition. Not worth taking away this focus for just one fight. I’m up to fight, but only if in the Gi.”
