It’s no secret that one of the matches that the BJJ community is looking forward to the most is the match between Nicholas Meregali and Nicky Rodriguez.
And, well, it appears that both of the athletes want it to happen as well – at least based on the continuous back-and-forth between them on social media.
Rodriguez first claimed that Meregali had a contract for a match against him, which he then terminated.
And recently, Meregali disputed the claim:
First of all, I never backed out of a contract to fight you.
It’s just your delusional mind lying to people and delusional people believing your lies.Secondly, I’ll fight you after fighting Craig Jones first.
There’s no point in promoting your brand or giving you money. You’re bringing nothing to the table other than your delusional mind. If this match is selling, it’s because of my brand, not yours.
After all, you never won anything.
Meregali also emphasized that he believes that he’s better than Rodriguez in all aspects:
I’m better than you in every aspect of the game, on the feet, top and bottom game, pace, strategic skills, and all others.
I’ll take you down a few times, force you to fight, you will get tired and collapse mentally.
After that, I’ll do whatever I want.
