Fight To Win 176: Results And Higlights

The Fight To Win 176 took place last Friday, on July 9. In the main event, Gustavo Batista displayed a phenomenal performance against Tex Johnson, winning by decision. Further down the card, other elite-level black belt competitors Junnny Ocasio and Samir Chantre also won via decisions.

 

FIGHT TO WIN 176 RESULTS & HIGHLIGHTS 

In the main event, Batista worked from the top position against Johnson during the entire match, while Johnson attempted to invert to attack Batista’s legs. With around two minutes remaining, Batista went for a pass to Side Control, where he threatened a North-South Choke; followed by a Darce Choke attempt.
These submission attempts and positional dominance earned him the win by decision.

In the co-main event, Samir Chantre utilized top pressure and a an almost successful Guard Pass early in the match. This secured him a close decision win over Orlando Castillo.

Junny Ocasio also gained a decision win over Carlos Oliveira. After pulling guard early in the match, Ocasio attacked from Open Guard. Although neither him nor Oliveira were able to get a truly close submission attempt during the entire match, it were the Ocasio’s attempts to enter Oliveira’s legs that earned him the decision.
