Tell us more about the Vai Cavalo Beer.

“It was through a friend of mine, Felipe Flores, who is a guy who takes care of everything for me here in Brazil, that helps me out with things like this partnership beer. He was having a beer with his girlfriend, with friends, and got talking to the owner, I think some UFC was happening, or something, and he commented that he was my friend, and he (the owner) said, ‘Oh, how nice, let’s try a beer for Werdum’, and when he saw, he painted the idea. And the bottle was pretty cool, ‘Vai Cavalo’ Beer. On 9th of May I went to Brazil and we did the launch, and it was pretty cool, because in an hour and a half, we sold more than 550 bottles. ”

“It’s a very good beer.’s Not as weak as the most popular in Brazil, not so strong. Everybody was approving, saying it was good. It is already being distributed by the Bushido, and Sierra Negra in São Paulo,  who manufactures it. Meanwhile, in the south, is the exclusive Maltstore, but it seems that is already being distributed in Brazil, has several people interested, had several requests, has sold well. Many enjoyed it. ”

You were not afraid about your image being associated with a product considered harmful to athletes?

“I think you should know how to separate things, be professional, and I think every fighter that could have, would find it cool, to have a beer to their name. ”

Do you want to expand the brand “Vai Cavalo” to other segments?

“This is just the beginning. Let’s open up the market with this beer, and things, such as keychains, slippers, t-shirts. Gradually we will launch stuff. Lets see what will be the response of the beer, and then begin to launch this line, the Vai Cavalo. ”

Do you plan to take the product to the United States as well?

“The focus now is to bring to Brazil first, then reach Latin America, I have a really nice audience there, because I do broadcasts in Spanish, so I think that Latin America will pick first. Then Brazil, Latin America, and then, God willing, come to the United States. But now the focus is Brazil. “
