F2W 191 Full Results: Gianni Grippo Loses to Mauricio Gomez

F2W 191 (Fight To Win) took place on January 14 and displayed a number of high-paced matches. The main event featured a bout between Gianni Grippo – the 2021 IBJJF World Champion (no-gi) – and Mauricio Gomez. In the end, the hugely favored Grippo suffered an upset loss to his much less experienced opponent.

Gomez went out on the offensive early on – he even attempted a somersault guard pass in the first few seconds! The two then found themselves in the 50/50 position, from which Gomez was trying to get a Heel Hook finish for four minutes straight.
Grippo finally managed to escape, but Gomez kept on with his relentless leg lock attacks throughout the match. Then, in the last 60 seconds, Grippo managed to pass Gomez’s guard; but wasn’t able to come up with any serious threats against his opponent.

In the end, Gomez earned a unanimous decision victory.

In the co-main event, it was Yuri Villefort who snatched a split-decision win against Enrico Cocco. He earned the victory by utilizing a heavy body lock passing game, which deprived Cocco of his attacks.
