Eddie Bravo has just revealed plans to host the inaugural EBI Open Tournament in El Paso, Texas – scheduled for June 17, 2024!
Since its inception in 2014, EBI has stuck to the model of invitation-only professional tournaments and qualifying events.
Therefore, this move into open tournaments marks a significant development for the promotion.
Similar to IBJJF and ADCC Open tournaments, the EBI Open will feature divisions for adults, masters, and kids across all Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ranks, from white to black belt.
However, what sets it apart is the utilization of the unique EBI Overtime ruleset, which was devised by Bravo over a decade ago.
Interestingly, Polaris has also recently announced its intentions to host Pro-Am tournaments in 2024, signaling a potentially broader trend within the professional grappling community.
