Denmark’s Arte Suave Academy Creates Elite Team w/ Aim of Winning Worlds

Arte Suave Academy  in Copenhagen, Denmark is one of the most successful BJJ academies in Europe in terms of competition achievements with such competitors as Alexander Trans, Ida Hansson, Shanti Abelha, Janni Larsson among others. Head trainer, Shimon Mochizuki is a key part in their success.

Arte Suave has now taken another step by creating an Elite Team with goals of winning the Worlds at black belt.

From Arte Suave academy head instructor Shimon Mochizuki:

The long term goal of our newly formed elite bjj team is to win gold in the black belt division at the worlds. We have started making special training for the guys that really want it. At the moment we have four guys on the team, they are all blue belts and are between 16 to 21 years of age.
They train around 12-14 times a week and that includes drilling technique, judo and regular bjj class.
This weekend is our first tournament that we will compete in since we started this project, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the guys in action. This is just the beginning of a long journey ahead, black belt champions are not made overnight. I think that 2015 is going to be an exciting year for this young team.

We look forward to seeing the results!
