Demetrious Johnson Explains Why He Doesn’t React To Insults By Fighting: “What Am I Proving?”

Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson is one of the best mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters of all time.

Now fighting in ONE Championship and boasting a 5-1 record, Johnson has secured the ONE flyweight championship title – and, despite being 47 years old, he is still a champion…
In and out of the octagon alike.

Namely, during a recent appearance on the JAXXON podcast, Johnson shared his thoughts on approaching confrontational situations; highlighting his preference for avoiding conflicts (outside of the octagon).

Here’s what he said:

They’re just words, right?

Me and my wife [were] walking around, some guy is walking by and he goes: “Nice t*ts.”
And my wife goes: “You hear that?”

I said: “Yes, he said you got nice t*ts. I agree you got nice t*ts.
You want me to go and kick his *ss? I can go do that. But then, what else is gonna follow me whooping his *ss?”

Johnson continued to explain his perspective:

If somebody says: “Oh, you black motherf*cker…”

I’m, like – if I go out and fight him, what am I proving?
Because there’s other 20 motherf*ckers out there who can’t wait to call me that.
