Dana White Reveals The Extravagant Reward Khabib Received Post-McGregor Victory – From Vladimir Putin

UFC CEO Dana White recently shared insights into the lavish rewards Russian President Vladimir Putin bestowed upon Khabib Nurmagomedov and his late father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, after “The Eagle’s” victory against Conor McGregor at UFC 229.

According to White, after the infamous post-fight brawl cleared up, Khabib got the call from Putin almost immediately:

He didn’t even make it back to his dressing room after the fight, and Putin was on the phone.

And, well, the Russian President decided to reward Nurmagomedov with an extravagant amount of riches:

Putin gave him and his father, like, $20 million worth of property in Russia.
Then he went into the Muslim territories where these guys are like, cars, money, gyms, whatever he wanted.

Despite such riches, Khabib had soon decided to retire, following his father’s death and the promise he gave to his mother:

Once you get to that level [of Nurmagomedov’s fame], it’s like what we’re dealing with with Conor McGregor.

Conor McGregor lives in a yacht in the middle of wherever the warmest place in the world is at that time.
Once you get to that level, you’re not getting up and getting punched in the face any more.

For White, the true GOAT is not Khabib – but Jon Jones:

Jon Jones is undefeated.

Khabib is undefeated, too, but I would have liked to have seen Khabib do more.
