Buchecha Praises Copa Podio Champion Leandro Lo

Last Saturday, Leandro Lo earned his fourth Copa Podio title- this time the lightweight GP -. Lo, who has won two world championships at light weight, one at medium heavy, has impressed everyone by his performance. Marcus Buchecha, the 3 times absolute world champion, praised his friend Leandro Lo in a interview with Tatame:

“Lo always shines in competitions not only by his results but by the way he fights. He always is striving forward and makes good fights. Regardless of the opponent, he god for it. Once again he is proving why he is the favorite in the competitions in which he participates. His division in Copa Podio was very difficult, it was not easy to fight at any time of the competition. He fought only against tough guys, and, again, he came out champion. Lo is to be congratulated. He started the year very well and certainly he will be one of the highlights of the year in Jiu-Jitsu, “

Marcus Buchecha, who is recovering from knee surgery and will not be back to fight in the Worlds this year, has faced Leandro Lo  six times. Despite being heavier, Buchecha pointed out that Lo’s technique always leads to him to achieving good results also in the absolute and praised his friend’s game:

“I’m Lo’s friend and yet, I’ve never trained with him. We recently had a seminar together in Ibiza, but I was injured and could not train with him. When we are together in Abu Dhabi, there is always a line of guys who want to roll with him. Although we have not trained together, we have faced each other six times in competition. We always have great fights, because he knows very well how to use his game and how not to let opponents use the advantage of strength and weight against him!
