Nenad Shuput, a co-owner of a Jiu-Jitsu gym and a BJJ black belt, recently found himself in handcuffs – following his alleged involvement in a roadside brawl.
According to KJJZ, Utah Highway Patrol officers responded to State Route 201 near 3200 West, after a report of a physical altercation between two individuals just after midnight on Sunday.
According to a witness, one man was spotted lying motionless on the ground while the suspect, later identified as 40-year-old Shuput, reportedly continued to deliver kicks to him.
Upon arrival to the scene, police officers discovered the victim with a bloodied face, indicating a severe assault allegedly perpetrated by Shuput.
The injured individual was promptly rushed to Intermountain Medical Center, where medical assessments revealed a fractured skull.
And, before additional assistance arrived at the scene, another person – a witness of the incident – stepped forward; revealing that both they and Shuput are co-owners of a nearby Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym.
Subsequently, Shuput was apprehended and taken into custody, charged with aggravated assault resulting in bodily injury, categorized as a second-degree felony.
It remains unclear what led to the altercation between Shuput and the victim.
