Craig Jones’ “Million Dollar Combat Jiu-Jitsu Idea” Is As Fun As You Think It Is

What do you think of Combat Jiu-Jitsu – the combination of BJJ with open palm strikes?
And what are your thoughts on Dana White’s “Power Slap” matches?

Well, whatever you may think of the two, Craig Jones has a “million dollar idea” on combining them!

In a recent episode of the “El Segundo” podcast, Jones spoke with MMA legend Josh Barnett.
Barnett spoke his mind on the Power Slap promotion:

Yeah, it’s absolute garbage. And I’ll caveat it with this. There are people participating in it that I’ve met that are good dudes, that they’re getting them.

They didn’t make it. They’re just taking advantage of the opportunity. And so I get it, you know.

But I’d rather see people do something more traditionally sport and athletically minded.
It just ain’t healthy.

At this point, Craig decided to share his “million dollar idea”:

You know, I ran this idea by Chael Sonnen and it was something.

So we obviously already have like, yeah, we have Combat Jiu-Jitsu. And it goes to overtime.
Why don’t we just incorporate power slap as the overtime?

It’s, like, you would never see me look for a submission faster than if I had to have a slap off with my opponent.
