Comedian Jack Carroll Explains How Jiu Jitsu helped His physique and Challenges Stemming From Cerebral Palsy

Jack Carroll is a British comedian, writer and actor. Carroll competed in the seventh series of Britain’s Got Talent at the age of 14, finishing as the runner-up.

Carroll has since changed a great deal, honing both his comedic stylings and his physique.
Dailymail reports:

That’s because Jack’s physical transformation, while partly due to growing up, is also the result of hours spent in the gym and swimming – and honing his skills in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a sport in which his cerebral palsy doesn’t hold him back.

‘I’ve always enjoyed watching mixed martial arts and in Brazilian jiu-jitsu you don’t need to be upright as it involves ground grappling,’ he says.

‘Three times a week I study technique and then with the other classmates I do free sparring. It’s useful to learn a martial art, it helps me in a lot of areas.

‘It’s made me fitter, stronger and more in control of my body, as well as better able to solve problems under pressure. People also tell me I’ve lost weight, which wasn’t really the point, but I suppose that’s a good thing too.

‘I try to eat healthily these days, protein and lots of vegetables – saying that, I’ve just polished off a KFC and a bowl of chocolate profiteroles.’
