Did you know that Logan Paul wants to buy a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear?
Yup, that’s right – the part that Mike Tyson bit off in their match.
Despite Tyson’s dominance in the ring, he was unable to best his former rival Evander Holyfield, who defeated Tyson twice in world heavyweight title matches.
Their second encounter in June 1997 is infamous for the incident where Tyson bit off a portion of Holyfield’s ear during a clinch.
Referee Mills Lane promptly disqualified Tyson after the bite, enabling Holyfield to retain his WBA heavyweight world title.
However, the one-inch piece of cartilage was discovered by an employee at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and it was never reattached to Holyfield’s ear.
While it remains unclear if the fragment of Holyfield’s ear still exists, Logan Paul expressed a keen interest in acquiring this unique piece of memorabilia.
During Monday night’s first press conference, a member of the Most Valuable Promotions team informed Paul that a janitor found the earpiece and returned it to Holyfield:
The janitor that was sweeping up the ring found it and they gave it back to Holyfield but he didn’t want to put it back on because he thought it looked cool.
He might have it.
They were going to sew it back on but he was like: “Nah, f*ck it. It looks cool.”Whoever was sweeping up the ring, they found it like two hours after the fight.
So, Logan expressed a desire to buy the piece!
I am trying to buy Evander’s ear.
The bout between Jake Paul – Logan’s brother – and Mike Tyson is scheduled to take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will be featured on Netflix.
