19 yr old Purple Belt Submits Former World Silver Medalist Black Belt Bill Cooper

Purple Belt Tainan Dalpra just had an amazing performance. At the Artista Invitational Dalpra was able to submit seasoned veteran and 3rd degree black belt Bill ‘The Grill’ Cooper.

Bill Cooper (31) was one of the youngest ever Americans to receive a BJJ black belt back when he was just 20 years old. In 2008, he became a IBJJF black belt world silver medalist when he lost the final to Sergio Moraes.

Now Dalpra might not be a household name but that doesn’t mean his list of accomplishments is short. He’s had big triumphs at Worlds, Pan Ams, No-Gi Worlds and No-Gi Pans!

Dalpra is/was part of the AOJ incubator and was quoted telling flograppling:

“I first visited AOJ when I was 13 years old and came to U.S. to compete at Pan Kids,” Dalpra says. “I remember that I visited many schools because I really wanted to make jiu-jitsu my career and train to become a professional athlete and make a living with jiu-jitsu in the future.”

In addition to that he also appears to be in spectacular shape:
