The Grand Slam Tour of UAEJJF Jiu-Jitsu stopped in Los Angeles this Sunday, 18th of October for an epic event.

Hundreds of BJJ athletes attended the Azusa Pacific University for an a great day of professional Jiu-Jitsu. The event was streamed live and for free on Budovideos.

The show started with a bang with a proper American marching band!

At black belt, Roberto Cyborg recovered from a tough loss of 10 to 0 against Ricardo Evangelista, in the final of his category + 94 kg, to win his next four matches in the open weight and win the gold.

First, he beat Alec Baulding by 6 to 0, then he submitted the very dangerous Erberth Santos with a choke from the back. In the semifinal, he faced Evangelista once again and was able to sweep in the closing minutes to ensure the win.

The gold came after a submission victory over Andre Campos.

Before anything I want to thank God for giving me the strength and courage to overcome myself and conquer such a great tittle specially after about two years without competing with the Gi. 77 kg: Celso Venícius defeats Roberto Satoshi (shoulder injury).

85 kg: Tanner Rice defeats Lucas ‘Hulk’ Barbosa by 2 to 1 on the advantages for the gold.

94 kg: Erberth Santos defeats Evandro Nunes 10-0 for the title.

+94 kg: Ricardo Evangelista defeats Roberto Cyborg 10 to 0.

Women:

55 kg: Maxine Thylin beat Talita Alencar for gold.

62 kg: Mackenzie Dern won by 2 to 0 vs Marina Ribeiro.

70 kg: Jessica Oliveira beat Tammy Griego.
