[Watch] MMA Fighter Reverse Slams Opponent – Knocks Him Out

You know what they say: being on the BJJ mats and in the MMA octagon isn’t the same. For, when you include punches into the equation, even the most highly decorated of black belts can lose with ease.
But it’s not just about the punches, either. It’s about other things that can be done in mixed martial arts and that cannot be done in (most) grappling tournaments – for instance, slams. And that’s exactly what happened to Luke Brinkworth on Saturday.

Brinkworth was competing against Dominique Simon at the XFC 58 event, in a featherweight MMA matchup. It was an amateur bout, with two fighters looking to solidify their places in the MMA community.

Almost as soon as the match started, Brinkworth took Simon’s back. He was working for a submission, but then… Simon started standing up. Even the commentators were wondering what will happen next.
And what happened next took everyone with surprise. Simon stood up and then reverse-slammed his opponent, knocking him out.

Watch how he reverse slams Brinkworth on the video below:

Here is the reverse slam in slow motion:
