Rener Gracie, one of the most famous BJJ practitioners and coaches in the world, has just released his book, titled: “The 32 Principles“.
And while the book is about Jiu-Jitsu, it’s not the only thing it’s about.
Rather, it’s about the lessons from Jiu-Jitsu that can be applied to life in general.
Rener has been working on it for nearly two years.
Here’s what he had to say about the book and why it’s great for people who don’t practice Jiu-Jitsu as well:
If you are a jiu-jitsu practitioner, what you’ll love most is how this book teaches you to apply the skills you’ve learned on the mat to achieve higher levels of success in your personal and professional life.
If you don’t practice jiu-jitsu, no problem. Every single chapter features a QR code that when scanned with your smartphone launches a video in which I explain the physical application of the featured principle before transitioning to the life and business applications of the same.
The famous Gracie shared more details:
It’s my belief that practicing jiu-jitsu changes our operating system, more profoundly and more quickly than any other activity.
The reason for this is that it completely reprograms the practitioner in three distinct ways: 1) how they face adversity, 2) how they face other people, and 3) how they face themselves.
We start by learning techniques, but once you become aware of the 32 principles that make all techniques possible, there is no limit to how they can be applied beyond the mat to achieve success in life and business.

Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
