Nicky Rod: “I’ve Never Taken Gear”

When will the rematch between Gordon Ryan and Nicky Rodriguez take place?
It’s difficult to say. But Nicky Rod appears to want it to happen as soon as possible.

In a recent interview by FloGrappling, Nicky shared a brief update – and emphasized that he has always been a natural athlete:

So, after I won the UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4, I took it upon myself to challenge Gordon Ryan to a match.
He was accusing me of taking steroids in the sport of Jiu-Jitsu, which is untrue.

I’ve never taken gear and I still continue to train and compete as a natural athlete.

Rodriguez continues:

So, upon winning in the finals of the UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4, I challenged Gordon Ryan to a 10-minute EBI overtime grappling match…

With the stipulation of both of us passing the USADA drug test before and after.
Just so I can show how natty I am.

He says that Ryan declined the match:

…Which I understand. The last time we competed, I was able to break his foot in a Toe Hold.
And ultimately, this led to his demise.

Now you see that he pulled out of his match with Felipe Pena, he has essentially retired from the sport of Jiu-Jitsu.
All due to me breaking his foot in our last competition.
