Nick Rodriguez Loses his BJJ Black Belt Debut to Victor Hugo at WNO 22

WNO 22, held in Costa Mesa (California), saw Victor Hugo earn a decisive victory against Nicky Rodriguez in their heavyweight clash.

Hugo, celebrated for his 2023 IBJJF Worlds double-gold triumph, leveraged his formidable guard to fend off Rodriguez – a two-time ADCC silver medalist known for his explosive Body Lock passing.
Hugo put on the offense for most of the match and, despite Rodriguez’s aggressive guard passing attempts, Hugo got the decision victory in the end.

The event also featured Mica Galvao defending his welterweight title against Kenta Iwamoto – with a display of superior technique, culminating in a match-ending Rear Naked Choke.
