Musumeci had specifically requested a match against Almarwai, the reigning IBJJF No-Gi World Champion.
He took control from the very start of the match, showcasing his feared guard.

Musumeci entangled Almarwai in a series of Leg Lock attacks, including Inside & Outside Heel Hooks and his signature Mikey Lock submission.
Almarwai put up a strong defense, however – prompting Mikey to switch strategies midway through the bout.

With a significant lead on the scorecards but still hungry for a decisive finish, Musumeci gained top position.
He swiftly passed Almarwai’s guard, took his back, and executed a flawless Rear Naked Choke.
