The Gracie family is going through a rough patch in MMA at the moment. With the impressive knockout suffered by Rolles and the firing of Roger from the UFC , the legacy of the family which spread Jiu-Jitsu to the four corners of the planet is being questioned.
To Cesar Gracie, however, there is a black belt able to recover the prestige of the family. It is Kron Gracie , son of the legend Rickson, who has just won his first gold medal at ADCC . Kron, according to Cesar Gracie, is the one who will put the Gracies in the place that is rightfully theirs.
For some time now, Kron, who plans to debut in mixed martial arts soon , has trained at Cesar’s academy in California. His training partners are Gilbert Melendez , Jake Shields and the Diaz brothers. Cesar believes in the potential of his young nephew and considers him ‘special.’
He told Tatame:
“Kron is a guy I would like to see fighting MMA. He is very aggressive and hasn’t got a passive style like other good Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu players. He is headed for the top, and I think he will do well in MMA. “
