The famous Karate Combat organization is now expanding its horizons into the realm of professional grappling!
Namely, they will introduce a new grappling promotion – set to unfold in the distinctive environment of their “pit”.
The pit – a signature feature of Karate Combat – is a matted area that sits below ground level, surrounded by 45-degree angled walls.
This unique design not only enhances the visual spectacle, but also influences the dynamics of the matches; offering a fresh perspective on space management and tactical movement without the constraints of ropes or cage walls.
Karate Combat, being the only striking sport that permits grounded strikes, already showcases elements of Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling – as fighters navigate ground attacks and strive to stand back up.
The new grappling venture, named the “Pit Submission Series” is going to be hosted by Joao and Paulo Miyao, renowned BJJ athletes.
Scheduled to premiere on January 26th, 2024, the series will feature grappling matches in the pit, preceding the main Karate Combat event.
