Josh Barnett, also known as “The Warmaster”, has been away from the combat sports scene for a while – focusing on his career in professional wrestling and his role as a commentator, including appearances on AEW television.
Phil De Fries, also known as “S-11”, has made a name for himself in KSW – amassing an impressive 12-fight winning streak, including a notable victory over Szymon Bajor last July.
Barnett is excited about the match, stating the following:
Four years ago, the lineal KSW world champion, Marcin Różalski challenged me to a bare-knuckle fight. I went to his realm, and I beat him.
Now, here comes Phil De Fries. I challenge you to come to my realm.Phil De Fries, I challenge you, on your home turf as KSW heavyweight champion, to a grappling match.
