Do you ever feel stressed out because you don’t feel that you’re as good at Jiu-Jitsu as you wished you were?
Well, Jasmine Rocha – daughter of the legendary Vagner Rocha – has some awesome advice for you.
Mainly, the advice is that you don’t have to be good at Jiu-Jitsu!
Especially if you have a career out of BJJ and are a hobbyist.
Why? Rocha explains:
You don’t have to be good at Jiu-Jitsu.
You just have to do Jiu-Jitsu.I tell hobbyists this all the time – you don’t have to be good.
You don’t come here to be a world competitor.
She continues to emphasize on the importance of having a good time first and foremost:
You’re a lawyer, bro.
You’re here to train, have a good time, de-stress.Don’t worry about, like: “Oh, I only hit two submissions today.”
Just come here, have a good time, hang out.I think that’s what Jiu-Jitsu is about.
Once people start putting that pressure on themselves, they’re not gonna like it.

Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
