This event marks Kelly’s first title defense since she became the promotion’s inaugural female champion by defeating Jessa Khan at ONE Fight Night 14.
And, well, that victory over Khan will have occurred nearly a year prior to Kelly’s upcoming bout with Bastos, also marking the last time Kelly competed.

In contrast, Bastos has been highly active, consistently competing at the top level.
She was focused primarily on gi competitions, securing several major IBJJF titles and recently earning her fifth consecutive IBJJF World Championship.
Despite her busy gi competition schedule, Bastos has also made significant strides in no-gi grappling.
She debuted in ONE Championship earlier this year, securing a decision victory over Kanae Yamada at ONE Fight Night 20.
Additionally, Bastos captured her fourth IBJJF No Gi World Championship at the end of last year, solidifying her status as a dominant force in her division.
