Yup, you’ve read that right – IBJJF has introduced a kids ranking system!

All kids’ rankings will be visible on the official IBJJF website.
But how will it work? IBJJF shared the information on their social media:

The rankings will reset every year and start from zero on January 1st. This is ifn order to keep an even playing field as many new kids start their competition journey every year.

Another reason is that kids grow in age and belt rank very fast, and therefore their points can not carry over to the next rank and age group.

And why did they introduce the kids ranking system?

These efforts are all in part for the IBJJF to begin making more kids events.

We want to provide the same quality kids events that parents are used to seeing from us and we will begin to bring more events to you each year.

Stay tuned and thank you all for the support.

What do you think of this decision from the IBJJF?
Is it a system that has a lot of potential to bring improvements and growth to the kids’ tournaments in Jiu-Jitsu?
