Haisam Rida has been announced as the replacement for Gordon Ryan – in the highly anticipated match against Mason Fowler!
The two athletes will face each other on December 10th, 2023, at the main event of UFC Fight Pass Invitational 5.
Originally, it was Ryan who was supposed to face Fowler, but had to pull out of the match due to a rib injury.
Here’s what happened:
A few days ago, in training, I was performing back escapes and badly popped my rib after a misdirectional escape.
After some time trying to train with it, myself and the team decided it was best to go ahead and reschedule the current matches that are planned.

Rida, though, will make for more than an exciting substitute.
And, even though he may have the weight advantage, Fowler brings a wealth of experience – having reached the quarter-final in both ADCC 2019 and 2022.
UFC Fight Pass confirmed Rida’s participation as Ryan’s replacement against Fowler in a recent announcement on their official Instagram account:
