Gordon Ryan is, arguably, the greatest no-gi BJJ competitor of all time.
He hasn’t been defeated for quite some time and has won the vast majority of his matches in more than a dominant fashion.
However, a part of the BJJ community is “blaming” steroid use for Ryan’s success.
And what does Ryan think of the accusations?
Little history lessons for all the low IQ “hE cOuLdNt WiN uNlEsS sTeRoIdS” people.
When I was 20 years old, 185lbs, 2 months into my black belt career, and LIGHTYEARS less technical than I am now, I was submitting REINGING ADCC champions and medalists who outweighed me by up to 50lbs, as a life time natural.
He shared that it has been about the technique, as it is today:
I was beating the best In the world… At 20 years old…
Not knowing anything about jiu jitsu relative to what I know now, like not even a tenth of what I know now.
For Ryan, it is all about what you know:
Do realize how insanely idiotic you sound when you make comments like this? Asking for everyone with an IQ above 68.
Knowledge trumps all. Know more, win more. Know a lot more… Win all.
I’m… Just… Better.
