Praise came from almost everyone in the BJJ community, including Meregali’s training partner – Gordon Ryan.

Ryan applauded Meregali’s performance, saying that “there’s no one that can beat him with or without the gi”:

He came out, out wrestled, took down, passed, mounted, and finished Kaynan.

I see the work he puts in day in and day out, and he deserves this.
Flawless performance from start to finish and I couldn’t be happier for him.

There is no one in the world who can beat him with or without the gi right now.

Gordon then took the conversation another way, emphasizing that he himself is levels above Duarte:

P.S.: keep kaynans name out of the same sentence as mine, with his shit hand fighting, lack luster scimmaging, abysmal effort at pin escapes, and literally non existent submission escapes.

He can be an ADCC champion, but I have and always will eat ADCC champions for fucking breakfast.
Do not compare me. There is no comparison.
