It’s just been announced that Giancarlo Bodoni will replace Gordon Ryan in what was supposed to be the main event of Who’s Number One (WNO) 21 – against Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa.
Bodoni will be a fantastic replacement for Ryan, in part due to the fact that he’s faced Barbosa a lot of times already…
With Barbosa currently leading the series, with 4 wins out of their 6 matches. Though Bodoni snatched the most recent victory.

Gordon Ryan had previously pulled out of this bout.
The reason? Rib injury.
Ryan shared what happened in a social media post:
A few days ago, in training, I was performing back escapes and badly popped my rib after a misdirectional escape.
After some time trying to train with it, myself and the team decided it was best to go ahead and reschedule the current matches that are planned.
Ryan won’t be competing, but he will not be missing out on the events either:
In other words, I won’t be competing until next year, but I will be at the events to see all my amazing supporters and coach my team.
Sorry everyone, this is just a part of the game.
