Georges St-Pierre Inducted Into UFC Hall Of Fame, Claims: “I Never Really Liked To Fight”

The former two division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre was finally “officially” inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame; as a part of the class of 2020 which had to “skip” the ceremony last year due to the pandemic.
The ceremony took place on Thursday night in Las Vegas.

He was introduced by none other than Royce Gracie – a Hall of Famer too – who holds the record of most title defenses (9) and most wins in the welterweight division (19)… As well as the most takedowns in the entirety of UFC’s history: 90!
St-Pierre concluded his domineering reign in the welterweight division himself, only to return and obtain the middleweight UFC title in 2017, in his final fight. However, at the ceremony, Georges surprised everyone by saying that he doesn’t really like to fight. But that he did it anyway because it gave him everything he now has:

I’ve always wanted to be a champion but it also meant a lot to me to have a positive impact on my sport. To change the game. When I retired from competition, I did with great pride at having made that impact.

It’s funny. I never really liked to fight. It’s a weird thing to say from a Hall of Famer, but I never enjoyed it. If I could snap my fingers before every fight to fast forward and open my eyes and the fight was over, I would have done it every single time. I did it because I could have the freedom, the health, the wealth and the life that I have.
