It looks like another Eastern European is making waves in the world of Jiu-Jitsu: Domininyka Obelenyte is a Lithuanian born World BJJ champion at brown belt. She trains under Marcelo Garcia in NYC together with Croatian BJJ black belt Zeljko Drinovac. She moved to the USA from Lituania at the age of 6 and started training Jiu-Jitsu at 9 years old.

She has won the 2010 worlds at blue belt and at purple belt and now since 2013 is the brown belt world champion at brown belt at the age of 17 years old! From September of this year, she will be studying in New York’s Columbia University and will continue training regularly at Marcelo Gracia’s academy. We wish her all the success.
