Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, the legendary BJJ and MMA fighter, has just been booked for his boxing debut – against none other than another former UFC fighter, Vitor Belfort!
The fight will take place on April 1st, 2023, at Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing 4 event:

Belfort already has some experience in the boxing ring. His first professional boxing match took place back in 2006; but more recently (in 2021), he faced the former cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion Evander Holyfield – and knocked him out in the very first round!
Jacare, himself, doesn’t have the same amount of boxing experience. He is known first and foremost as a legendary BJJ athlete, who was an IBJJF and ADCC champion – but he also fought in MMA for years, where he was feared by many of his opponents.
For example, he hasn’t suffered a submission loss in mixed martial arts until UFC 262, back in 2021.
Even though he retired from professional MMA shortly after UFC 262, Jacare continued his career as a coach and opened up his own gym.
And now, he’s coming back to fighting professionally… And it’ll be extremely exciting to see how the match between him and Belfort will go down.
