Retired since last year from MMA, Renato “Babalu” Sobral put on his kimono once and competed in the Pan American Championships last weekend.
The former Strikeforce champion, has been active on the IBJJF competition scene this year. He also medaled in Lisbon in January at the Europeans, winning a bronze medal at black belt master 2. This time at the Pan, he medaled twice and, despite the podium, did not win the gold medal.

In the absolute, the leader of Babalu Iron Gym had to settle for the silver medal after losing to Roberto Godoy.
