Last weekend, the black belt from Checkmat, Renato Cardoso did not pass the first phase of Copa Podio GP in Rio despite a good campaign where he submitted Travis Stevens. Without being discouraged, the student of Rodrigo Cavaca bounced back this Saturday at the Floripa Open Jiu-Jitsu in Santa Catarina, Brazil.

At the final of the open weight, Renato beat Mauro Felipe (Alexandre Souza Team). At the final of the middle heavyweight, however, Renato was overcome by Rodrigo Fajardo (Gracie Barra).
