Vinicius “Draculino” Explains How He Still Trains BJJ – Despite Many Injuries

If you train Jiu-Jitsu, it’s only a matter of time before you get injured. That’s a fact.

Now, whether the injury/injuries will be big or small depends on a variety of factors. Including luck.
Which sometimes will, unfortunately, evade you.

It’s been that case for the legendary competitor and coach Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhães.
But despite the many (serious) injuries and surgeries, he continues to train.

Here’s how:

First, by knowing that my prime is long gone – also my speed, explosion, available time and more BUT I have been adapting.

I train with partners that can make me and him/her benefit from it.
I don’t put my ego in front of my joy to train.

I don’t live with the illusion that I will always be among the best in the training room…
AND THAT IS TOTALLY OK!

It’s this sort of an approach – the mix of having fun and understanding one’s own limits – that will enable you to train well into old age and despite the injuries:

This way, I still train, have fun, exercise my body, mind and soul.

There is no other physical activity that gives me the peace of mind and the happiness that Jiu-Jitsu training gives me.
May GOD allow me to keep training till the day I die.
