UFC Champ Robert Whittaker Will Wrestle For Australia at Commonwealth Games

UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is set for a formidable challenge. He will represent Australia in freestyle wrestling for the Commonwealth games which will be held on April 4th.
This the first time that a current UFC champion competes in a major sporting event such as the commonwealth games which includes all the nations of the commonwealth.

The UFC has given its approval. Whittaker is a BJJ brown and Karate black belt who grew playing Rugby and only started Wrestling a few years ago when transitioning to MMA.

The Daily Telegraph confirmed the news:

“Only two months after becoming Australia’s first UFC champ, The Daily Telegraph can reveal Whittaker has finally been rubber stamped to join Australia’s wrestling team at the upcoming Gold Coast Games, starting April 4.”
