If your opponent is in a seated Open Guard position, it’s almost always a good idea to push them to the mats and make them supine. Why? Because it gives them far less options for establishing grips – and, therefore, far less options for going on the offensive.
But what you’ll find is that, often times, after you push them to the mat they will start sitting up again… Which is when you’ll have an opportunity for a swift Body Lock Pass!
