The decorated fighters were named Paralympic ambassadors in Brazil and members of the Paraolympic comittee and athletes of the Brazilian para olympic judo team attended.

“It was a huge step taken within the Paralympic scenario,” said Rodrigo Minotauro. “We know that the mission is not easy, but we have people who are willing and committed to it. Even you can count on me. I, as a Paralympic ambassador and from Jiu-Jitsu, am with you on this mission. “

Elcirley Silva, president of the Brazilian Federation of Para jiu-Jitsu, said the mission goes beyond the paralympic dream:

“Parajiu-Jitsu goes beyond the sport,” said Elcirley. “With studies about what sport can promote in our athletes’ bodies, such as the development of other muscle groups, in a work that began four years ago. The biggest goal is not the medals or the financial return, but the benefits that the sport brings to the health of the mind and body of the athlete. To reach Paralympic is not our main goal, but to use Parajiu-Jitsu as a tool to overcome. “
