Mickey Gall Calls Out Dan Hardy, Plots Move To LightWeight

Mickey Gall is enjoying the gloat of victory and simultaneously making plans for the future. He called out Dan Hardy for his next fight shortly following great victory against Sage Northcutt. He also confirmed Northcutt was talking trash to him during the fight:

“He said, ‘Get up, get up,’ and I was like, ‘No, why don’t you come down – I thought your jiu-jitsu is better than mine,’” Gall said. “Because he said that in the (preview) show.

“And then I got up and I’m like, ‘What are you tired?’ And he said, ‘I never get tired.’ I gotta say, I like Sage with an edge.”

Northcutt gleefully pointed out his opponent’s blood when a cut opened over Gall’s right eye.

“He was like, ‘Ooh, that one is good,’” Gall said.

Dan Hardy is an interesting pick for Gall – he’s been retired since 2012 even though the rumors of his return were sparked several times.

“I did some Googling, and he said he wants to come back, and he wants a marquee fight,” Gall said. “I think he would look at me and say that’s a nice fight for me. Hopefully, he’ll take that bait.

“But for real, I’m a big fan of his, and it would be an honor to fight him. Big names make nice trophies. I’m tossing out a Hail Mary, like I did with CM Punk. If it doesn’t happen, that’s OK. I’d love to see him come back. I’d definitely like to see him fight me.”

Hardy responded on twitter:

Gall also admitted he’s inspired with Conor McGregor and wants to go to 155:

“I think I’m going to drop down to 155. I think I’m a little young for 170. I think if I go down there I’m the champion in a couple years,”

“I’d like to go down. I like the way Conor did that, Suffer and I want to be the best in a weight class. I think at 155 I’ll have that belt in a couple years. I got in this to be the best in the world. Whoever, whenever, whatever.”
